Of course, maybe you're right, and everyone working on Woodcrest at Intel just forgot about the memory requirements.

20% better leaked benchmarks seems to have elevated INTC's execution to a whole new level it seems.

Where was this INTC management team when AMD was out with their Opteron and they were pushing their 30 stage pipeline monstrosities?

FBDIMMS' may be "available", but at what cost penalty over DDR2?

What will even the advertised 20% price premium do to a server with 16 or 32GB of memory.

Thousands of $$ I would guess. What if the premium is higher initially? It may slow the Woodcrest ramp down.
