I listened to Limbaugh today and he lied immediately. He can hardly go twenty seconds without an outright lie. What he said was that Ray Nagin didn't bus the Katrina victims out because he had post-traumatic stress disorder.

Let's look at the facts now. According to Vanity Fair's unflattering in-depht piece on Nagin, he was stressed out (who wouldn't be?) but he sent representatives to try and get the buses. They could not find the keys nor the drivers. And then very quickly the buses were under water.

So once again, Rush lied.

While Nagin blew it by not ordering a mandatory evacuation, FEMA blew it even worse knowing that such a hurricane would totally swamp local authorities (literally) and they would need major league help. And on the morning of the flooding Bush stopped for a photo op speech where he compared himself to FDR. We all know the rest. How about Mobile Home Bush for letting 10,000 mobile homes sink into the mud in Arkansas? That was after the fact without any stress trauma.

All Bush ever did were photo ops after the criticism started. He never really did anything to help the people. Still hasn't. In fact you can see today with the story about the $950 security guards FEMA is hiring, that it's just another case of corruption and mismanagement. In Mississippi too.

Here's a small sampling of Rush lies just from the past month or so. mediamatters.org

Thre are many-many more, but you get the picture. This is all about tramping down the truth and trying to replacing it with stilted propaganda in order to mislead people and prejudice their opinions. Rush is good at his lying and proud of it too.

As for Franken, you should listen to him sometime. for one thing he regularly has rightwingrs on his show and engaged in friendly and open debates. He is not afraid of letting the other side be heard. Also, when FGranken makes a point, he goes out of his way to prove it, that is with solid proof, not just opinion. Of course he is liberal, and proud of it, but he takes his credibiloity very seriously, despite the fact he is also a satirist.
