But that's not forward-looking. That's just a recitation of what happened when one company (Intel in this case) fell significantly behind another in performance, and perf/W. And that is going to do a 180 starting in 1 month.


No it's not (JMO of course).

It's an "inflection point". There are some disruptive changes in the market that are non-linear events and not easily reversable.

AMD gaining tier 1 status was one of them.

It will cause a rebalancing of the x86 suppliers to:
1. More equal ASP's
2. More equal market share based on capacity/basic technology
3. More equal valuation based on #1 and #2 above.
4. Shifting of some of the total CPU profits to box makers- primarily at the expense of Intel ASP's (because they are more out of wack for the technology/performance they provide).

If you can't see that, then too bad. We have made our bets.
