I think he's a stupid clown who got what he deserved. The rest of us pay to support the gov't. Or did he think those soldiers in Iraq expected their families to starve while they were over there in harm's way? Why does that jerk think he's entitled to a free ride? Want to see BAD? Become a Mexican. You get to pay taxes and as far as you can tell, you get nothing back.

And, yes, if you don't pay, there will be penalties and accrued interest.

I'd think he was convicted of felong tax fraud and that
he should pay what he owes.

They didn't prosecute Richard Hatch for not paying taxes that were assessed against him.

They prosecuted him for filing a false return, a felony.

Edit: I see he was also charged with evasion, and was convicted of that charge.

If you're gonna play games with the IRS, it's best to report all income honestly and then just not pay taxes on it.
