Would you put the odds that Dell will announce they'll be carrying AM2 systems at exactly 0%?

Announce next week? How about less than 0.1%, given what Rollins said yesterday about having no current plans for using AMD on the desktop, mobile, or other server lines than 4S.

UpNDown,

Well, AMD introduces the AM2 platform and CPUs next week. Would you put the odds that Dell will announce they'll be carrying AM2 systems at exactly 0%?

0%.

Over the Hedge and the high-end halo effect.

AMD Teams with DreamWorks to Bring Over the Hedge to Life

Even if Dell limits itself to 4S+ systems, one or two high-profile wins in that category will make for some great PR for AMD.

Consumers have the ability to tap into similar technology used by DreamWorks Animation’s artists with PC systems powered by AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processors and AMD Turion 64 mobile technology.

Doesn't matter if it's Dell or HP or whomever, success in the high-end trickles down and leads to great advertising copy. If Dell wants to let the trickle down from a high profile 4S+ win go to HP or others that's their prerogative.
