MILBERG SHORTED ELGINDY STOCKSthesanitycheck.com ----------------------------------------------------- Milberg Weiss - The Hits Just Keep on Coming Location: Blogs Bud Burrell - Front and Center Posted by: bburrell 5/24/2006 9:37 AM A source close to the Elgindy matter has verified to my satisfaction that Milberg was closely involved in the Elgindy syndicate well ahead of their first mutual meeting. A Milberg lawyer was an open member of the syndicate and a regular participant on the site for a year before their first suit against an Elgindy target. I have been informed by another impeccable source that the Milberg lawyer were actively shorting companies they planned to target for suits before they were filed, and it was open information within the firm. So where are these charges. The personal trading records of the lawyers at this firm have to be examined by DOJ and the SEC. If this is found to be true by third party finders of fact, those guilty should be severely castigated, charged, tried, convicted and jailed for improper and criminal insider trading. I made a judgment call after the first round on indictments that there would be several more such actions. Looks like that call was not only accurate, but conservative. The big question is when does Lerach get indicted? He is clearly the defendant B mentioned in press releases. Milberg billed/recovered $45 Billion over 41 years. RICO charges suspends the statute of limitations for claims going all the way back to their first actions, if I understand them correctly. That means all of their recoveries, expenses and fees are now in play for litigation by their victims. It is not rocket science that their billing and expense charge sheets should be examined closely for overcharging. I would imagine that 50% of their total recoveries came to them in fees and expenses. If they are stupid and arrogant enough to do what they are alleged to have done, it is not a substantial reach to speculate that they might have tacked on some serious G&A loads to their fees and bills. As usual, I would appreciate any information here.
