The Cubs are already one of the most valuable teams in baseball. Last year, Forbes had them ranked sixth at $398 million. The Sox were ranked number twenty at $262 million.

I am sure that the gap has narrowed this year, but the Tribune has consistently made money on the Cubs whether or not the team is competitive. The White Sox only make money when the team is winning.

Chicago is still a Cubs town, but that may be changing. I have been spending a lot of time working with a client located near Belmont and Clark. I see a lot of people wearing White Sox attire. Two years ago, no one in that area would have worn black.
