Technically, of course, they're all masters, (Segovia claimed that for most of his students). Parkening is romantic in his style very much like Segovia. Williams IMO tends to put the original composer ahead of his own influence. It's a matter of taste more than anything else but I've heard certain recordings by Williams like, Variations on a Catalonian Theme by Dowland, where I haven't been able to figure out how he plays the piece without tying his fingers in a knot. I mean there's one section where he's playing a melody line with unnatural harmonics, (pressing a fret with your left hand while dampening and plucking the string with your right hand), at the same time playing a 2 note base line, the end result is making his guitar sound just like a pipe organ. The simplicity of the sound hides the incredible physical dexterity it takes to play the piece......... I could ramble on about classical guitar forever.
