Armin Lenz,

Sounds about right to me.

If I were really, really cynical, I might conclude that that is what Dell is trying to do. Then, when they flip back without ever selling one AMD box, they become the only one with the Intel only discount, and Mickey stops finding stains on Otellini's sheets when he goes over to visit.

Another cynical view would be that it was Intel that asked Dell for this announcement to position themselves for the lawsuit. Since, Dell is probably not selling many 4P Xeons, anyway.

It is possible that Dell has woken up and decided that their best interest isn't in an unholy alliance with a monopolist, but is based on truely offering their customers the best products and service in the industry. But this is way too far fetched.
