I believe that Boot Camp includes a software utility that allows you to partition your hard drive without destroying the existing partition. There is also a nice utility called Drive Genius, from Prosoft Engineering. It enables "on-the-fly" partitioning of your Mac hard drive and does many other useful things, for a reasonable price.

I've decided, at least for the moment, to stay away from the Boot Camp solution. It looks as if the Parallels is a better long term one. But thanks nonetheless.

As for the "on the fly" partitioning software, I'll take a look. That external hard disk I mentioned in a previous post to Doren should be easy to partition "on the fly" because it's not been used for anything else save simply storing the windows data. So it should be reasonably clean.
