You can get a green card well within the 6 years during which you are a temporary worker.

The toughest part (and one of the longest phases) of the whole process is to prove that you are not displacing any American from getting that job. But since Dumbya has already declared that these temporary workers are for jobs that Americans wouldn't do, that step is not needed. So the green cards might even be issued within a year or two.
