Also, what about people who pay in but never collect? Like those who die before they retire (millions) or move out of the country or don't care?

Maybe it's all just balanced out. I can't believe it was set up inequitably. What would be the logic in that?

I take it you're against Social Security like many rightwingers. I should remind you though that even if you're right, 99% of it IS paid for by the recipients, and that's blood, sweat and tears people expect to be able to collect for their old age. So the real danger is if SS is privatized, then the big banks will move in and take a big slice of the pie for themselves, luring people with higher potential returns but really being at the mercy of the markets.
