Edwards will probably not run. Not because of his wife's health but because when he gave up his senate seat he gave up remaining relevant. That translates to losing financial support. The candidates all need to raise many millions. Edwards must be having a hard time raising anything.

Plus his campaign against poverty is wonderful and humane but it's not the kind of special expertise voters are looking for. Besides, poor people don't vote much.

Also, for whatever reason, Edwards lost his fire as Kerry's VP. He was only on fire when he was the rebel. The media ignored him once he was picked by Kerry and that was too bad because Edwards was the real deal as a rural American populist everyman.
