many are also now skilled workers who can earn a decent wage here vs mexico. Like most immigrants i expect they send a lot of money back home to help support their family or extended families. Perhaps many return after a few years. perhaps some come and go , get some money and return home because their are no jobs available in their country. I remember the roofer who got captured coming across and told the news person i have a job waiting for me in chicago. When asked what he will do now. he said try to come back again next week. i agree they are not trying to replicate mexico here only trying to improve their living standards like most immigrants.
