Air American was blocked from LA for a year or more. They have only recently gotten here. They were blocked by rightwing corporate lobbying, that story about the bounced check notwithstanding.

Pressure was put on the stations to deny them airtime and it worked, at least until after the election. This is still being done across the country to Ed Scshultz and Air America, as well as others. Rightwingers control most of the airwaves and they only want their biased opinions heard.

We need to re-regulate our airwaves, people. Corporate controls and more specifically rightwing corporate control has gone way too far. It's like the Walmart economy on the airwaves. No independent voices are allowed in.

Ed Schultz bangs Hannity, while Franken bags O'Reilly
wegoted.com

It's a start, folks, coming back from the 99% dominance of industry rightwing propaganda radio, there are rays of light shining through. But we need about 50 more Schultz's and Frankens to even the playing field.

To conservatives out there. I challenge you to listen to Schultz and Limbaugh or Hannity and with an open mkind count the number of lies the radio hosts tell. You will find Limbaugh and Hannity lie incessantly, and Schultz never does. Ditto Franken. Franken, in fct, goes out of his way to present evidence proving each point he makes, a la Media Matters, playing the clips proving Bush or Cheney lied, Rush or Hannity lied, etc. If you're not liberal you might not agree, but there's ny denying Schultz and Franken take their journalistic credibility seriously, and the rightwingers rely on tried-and-true smear and fear tactics.
