Reagan and Nixon also lost. So did Clinton, both Bushes, Gore and many great leaders. In fact Nixon was so badly defeated in California that he said "you won't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore" and he retired from poltics, only to come back and win two terms, including a 20% walloping of McGovern.

Kerry lost his first run at congress too. But he never gives up. Did you bread his commencement speech yesterday. He sees 2004 as just a "battle", and also he knows he was cheated out of quite a few votes, and smeared of course, which was really the fault of the MSM for covering.

You can back anyone you want, but don't be saying that just because someone gets beaten once or cheated out of victory that they're finished. That's a silly pessimistic view of the world. If that were true, then none of the world's greatest leaders would have made a name for themselves. Most of them suffered a humiliating defeat or two sometime in their career. In fact losing occasionally builds character and forces you to correct mistakes you might have made.

When you lose a sports game do you give up and cancel the season? Same logic. This political war is just beginning. It is the war for our future. Either we are a country run by the people and honest leaders or mega-corporations and corupt politicians/lobbyists. Take your pick. That's what this is really all about, and Kerry knows it.

Kerry is particular eager to take on Big Oil, and win.
