The interesting thing is *why*... :)

Because Intel doesn't need 3.33/1333 now, given what AM2 looks like, not because they couldn't.

Also, the part about the XE parts overclocking to 4GHz with air cooling. That's also interesting. :)

Now, according to that thread, Conroe XE will come with HT2 (hyperthreading 2) a.k.a. ultra-threading, whereby it can appear as 4 logical cores.

I have a hard time believing that, given the Intel presentations to date. OTOH, at least one of the posters who is insisting upon it has been rather reliable to date, and has had early samples...
