My sister is an HR manager for a mid sized company in CA (over 100 employees, but less than 500)....They have a fairly large size group of Hispanics employeed. ALL of them have 1-9's with picture ID and proof of right to work in the US...or passports etc....I asked her how she knew the documents were actually certificated documents, and not fakes....she said that they do the best they can to be sure they are genuine. But in the end, how do we really know that the documents are genuine????? The employers are not the government, nor the FBI....The best they can do is the best they can do. She and I both think we are headed to a National ID Card.....much to our mutual dismay. But we have been asking for it for a long time. And BTW, michael, EXACTLY what are you talking about when you say: Why do you feel the need to make slurs against these folks. What a crazy thing to say!! And with no proof, of course! Geeeze.
