Cindy Sheehan Confirms Susan Sarandon To Play Her In Biopic
by Jim Brogan
Mar 21, 2006
On March 20th tPC reported that Susan Sarandon would play Cindy Sheehan in a new movie. Today on FOX' 'Big Show' with John Gibson, Bill McCuddy - FOX's entertainment guy - spoke about the new movie which has no story no script and no cast as of yet other than Sarandon. Sheehan confirmed that she had spoke to Sarandon about the role and was excited about the project.

Gibson asked McCuddy why he thought Sarandon would be interested in playing such a role and he indicated that he believed that she felt it was a very important role that could perpetuate Sheehan's message about her son and possibly even the sacrifices Sheehan mad along the way.

McCuddy believe the film would be a made for TV movie possibly for Lifetime or even the Networks.

Sheehan became an icon of the anti-war movement when she camped outside President George W Bush's ranch in Crawford Texas during his August vacation, demanding he meet her for a second time. Sheehan had met the President earlier in the year with a group of families of fallen soldiers and said that she thought he was a man of compassion.

Anti-war demonstrators applauded Sheehan as she gained notoriety and became the 'mother' of their movement. But by the end of her "Camp Casey" protest, polls showed as many Americans viewed her unfavorably as favorably.
