You know damn well McCarthy wanted fascism. Maybe not the same as Nazi fascism, maybe a less evil form of it, but he wanted strict obedience to the rightwing party line from all US citizens, or else you get accused of being a "communist" and your life is ruined. The next step for McCarthy would have been Gulags, concentration camps for dissidents (ie liberals). Coulter has made a huge effort to whitewash McCarthy and resurrect his fascist ideals into American society again. She has said she is against free speech for liberals and has called all democrats "traitors". And we know what McCarthy would do to "traitors". Ironically the only real traitors ("insidious" ones, according to Bush Sr.) are the creeps in the White House who outed one of our top CIA agents on Iranian WMD during war-time. Libby, Rove, Cheney and Bush himself.
