Brian, the issue is simple. How do you make money in the stock market. It will never be 1996 again. My Dad tells me that my Grandfather sold the market short in 1929. Did he really? Well it could be true but if so he was certainly bucking the trend.

Why not plan of bucking the trend when most people hate the stock market again. Apathy alone does not keep opportunities from arising but there are no sure things. Actual all pervasive pessimism leads to tremendous buying opportunities.

90% of all stocks rise in a bull market but first you must have a bear market that causes 90% of all stocks to drop.

What's a bear market?

A drop in all the major indices of 20% or more. That would be a big drop from here creating a lot of pessimism in my humble opinion.
