What I find particularly insulting is the notion, put forth by Democrats, that Bush voters are throwing Bush and the republican congress under the bus. What they fail to point out is that any voter with principles will throw poor politicians under the bus. There is nothing new or nefarious about it.

Both parties may be mired in self interest, but the democrats act as if the world has a future. Perhaps we can't live forever, but at least we can try to make a better world for our children's children.

The republicans, in particular those who have taken control of the party, seem to think that the world is in it's end-times and there is no need to concern themselves with more than immediate gratification.

Spending too much and acting with self interest are a part of the political package. You get those no matter who is in office. But you're trying to sell that there is no difference between teh parties. There is a difference. And they each have their flaws and baggage. I'd rather have my bags packed by democrats.
