Kerry was right about that. H didn't lie at all. The vote was never to "go to war" it was to enforce inspections and UN resolutions. Read the language.

In fact Bush promised to NOT go to war except as a last resort. He even claimed he was for peace. Bush bald-faced lied. Kerry told the truth, though admittedly it was sort of a no-win vote. Damned if you do or if you don't. But Kerry was on record as being for forced inspections of Saddam, so he had to vote for the real threat of force. "Real" threat means massing US troops nearby threatening to attack. Not invade and occupy.

Kerry agreed on using the real threat of force to enforce the inspections. But he never agreed to invade Iraq unless Saddam were found to be a direct and imminent threat to the US. Kerry never agreed with the decision to invade and occupy. Big difference. So nice try, phony baloney.
