One of the first thing Bush did was cut VA hospital budgets in 2001. I talked to a VA doctor in LA. He said 90 doctors and 900 nurses were laid off shortly after Bush seized power. That's a fact.

Then, Bush attempted to cut one billion dollars from the VA just as he was sending 150,000 troops into a bloody war which would turn out to be a meat-grinder due to Bush's total lack of proper planning.

the billion dollars was only put back into the budget after GOP congressmen up for re-election howeld that it would hurt them at the ballot box.

Bush definitely stands for minimal help for the troops, veterans and their families. Kerry worte the Veterans Bill Of rights and is probably the #1 veterans proponent in DC. Certainly one of the three biggest.
