Clinton gave us the best economy since 1960, all paid for, with the first surpluses since 1960, three straight years of them. Bush inherited a large surplus, and quickly turned it into the grossest deficits in history, also growing government faster than any prez in history. Bush repeatedly lied about this, promising to cut the deficit in half within 5 years. Instead, four years later the deficits are growing and growing with no plan whatsoever to stop it. B ush will probably leave us with 7 trillion in new debt, much of it disappearing into the pockets of big oil and other industrial cronies who Bushies have given license to gouge and steal.
