Hello EP, ... Where do I start?

Grim is a good word;

Apocalyptical can also do;

Biblical would be too early;

My advice to uncle savior Ben his august Bernanke is that, if he wants to forestall the grimly approaching biblical apocalypse, now, as in today, is better time than later, to try save the next 10 years.

Well, perhaps I exaggerate, but then I may not appreciate the true extent of the on rushing ... grimness.

The morning bus ride was interesting. Overheard and eavesdropped on three cellular conversations where folks were planning out their work day, in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. The basic gist was the act of combing through the portfolio, to select the wagers to closeout, and positions to unwind.

The lunchtime e-mail scan was enlightening, as an on-line account I hold official title to got notified of order executions . . . Sell Japan, Indonesia, and China, and only sell.

My coffee shop visit was curious, for the normally bustling place, with Bloomberg TV on all the walls, one 45 inch plasma screen every 10 feet apart, including along the staircase, was quiet, and empty, with the Bloomberg anchor staring at himself from opposing screens. All the usual customers are not there having a good time.

My 6:00pm visit to hedge fund was ... thought provoking.

Everyone was silent, all eyes were red, no one was going home anytime soon.

The boss was clipped, red eyed, using phrases such as ... “We have been busy with India ... Now doing Europe, then onward to New York ... We will move through this and survive to” ... And I chimed in with "fight another day".

I just got off the bus, home, and thinking, "volatility is what? What about chaos? What is it about crisis? What's the BS about lonely path? ... Hmnn, survive sounds good right about now."

More soberly, I think a respite in selling must start now, and the rate increase in June? Forget about it, for it must be off. Buy gold.

Chugs, J
