S2,

Leyland has always been well regarded as a "players coach". And, the Tigers have some good baseball going for them. I think this is going to be a great race for both leagues. The Sox hammered Clappy's Yanks last night. Schilling pitched well and the offense did its thing. The Yanks however had too many injuries to have it be a good indicator of competition. I do think their pitching is weaker than it has been in years. With a 9-2 lead, Keith Foulke proceeds to to provide batting practice for the Yanks allowing 3 runs in one inning....I don't think he has the velocity, placement or intensity as in the past - we have more good ones to replace him.

Michigan eh? What beautiful country. Every now and again I think about the Lake, rolling plains, the horizons and the friendly people.
