It's working. The message of terrorism is spreading rapidly throughout the world. It's a rather clever, but counter-intuitive argument. If we can get the terrorists to commit more acts of terrorism year over year then eventually we'll "win".

I don't know if it's counter-intuitive. The "war on terror" has always been, at its root, a civil war between moderates and militants.

But it was always easy for the Arab "street" to rally behind the Islamo-Fascists when they committed their terrorist acts against Western targets. This was certainly the case on 9/11.

But when we tear down the old repressive governmental structures and force these societies to make a decision as to the type of government they want (which is generally democratic participation), that terror is unleashed upon themselves and they finally get a "reality slap" about the monster they've help to create.

I wish Bush would make that point in one of his addresses to the American people.

I think it's pretty obvious that he could never state it in the manner that I just phrased it in.

HOWEVER, I do agree that Bush needs to be more forceful and vocal in speaking to the Arab "street" and the rest of the world, and pointing out how this Jihadist Terrorist threat is not just focused upon the US, but against moderate and tolerant Muslims as well. And the majority of Muslims, in fact, or in self-perception, would like to think of themselves as moderate and tolerant.
