I think it started with the "moral" majority, then came the "values" framing. It comes across like the religious/Christian right is claiming a monopoly on morality and values. That's been most annoying. Of course, the rest of us with values have long complained about it so it was comforting to see Will finally address the question. He has pointed out some anomalies in the religious/Christian right before. That's one of the things that endears him to me.
