He is clearly talking about desktop parts, mentioning Conroe only and not Woodcrest. The reference to diehard enthusiasts is a reference to performance desktop users. voodoopc.blogspot.com Rahul has either been ignorant about Conroe all of this time, or he has just been pretending to be ignorant and doing a "pump-and-dump" routine. Early leaked benchmarks or reports showing Conroe vastly superior to Athlon 64 is going to do nothing but hurt his AMD-only desktop business. Poeple will be tempted to wait for Conroe. He has a strong economic interest in talking up Athlon 64 to the bitter end. No doubt he will be quite pleased with Conroes once he has an adequate stock of them. His substantial Athlon 64 X2/FX business will likely dry up to nearly nothing and be replaced by Conroe in the next year without MASSIVE price cuts from AMD.
