The rightwing needs to stop attacking our best newspapers and reporters. Thomas Jefferson stated any democracy needs a strong independent press for taking on corrupt politicians who get too big for their bitches. Which is exactly what Bush-cheney-DElay have been since day one. The corruption in this administration needs to be challenged, and the Ny Times, Washington Post, Newsweek, Time and a few others are the only ones with the resources to do it. Those same papers/mags also went after abuses in the Clinton administration and all others. So this isn't about right-left, it's about corruption vs. the press doing its job. And the press did not do their jobs between 2000 and 2004. They were much too light and easy on Bush and company and allowed them to get away with far too many abuses of power. Also, this is the most corrupt administration we've ever had, so we badly need to force them to stop it.
