Just came back from Missouri and Kansas. Most of the people I talked with in regards to ethanol can't figure out why everything is based in corn. They all point out how well its done in Brazil but are well aware they are using sugar cane. Corn is probably the least efficient crop available yet it receives all the focus and promotion. It's simply amazing that a third world country can execute an energy plan almost to perfection and we're stuck with rhetoric and special interest groups that will probably doom the whole concept.
