Then I guess we agree. I agree that the decision is being made on emotional grounds, but I find any real informed discussion of economic impact almost absent from the "debate"- but let's not dignify it by calling it a debate. It seems to be a bunch of roused people saying the first thing that comes to mind. The people who purport to be framing the issue in economic terms (on both sides, pretty much) are just using cherry picked figures to support their particular prejudices- which was not what I had in mind when I talked about people looking at the economics of the thing.
