I guess you can show me some numbers -- the reasoning sounds very plausible to me that ethanol is NOT breakeven. I'l admit to not having dug in. Amount of Btu used to that obtained I think IS a good place to start and we have to include ALL the energy for BOTH.

There may be revolutions in energy production coming, but methinks the money hear-term is going to be in better usage.

BTW -- I have a politically correct deal in my curriculum here where I have to teach students about energy and the environment -- perhaps letting them do research to check the claims might be good for THEM!!
