Not if you consider the last couple of thousand years.....some of the European countries have been run not once, but many times by various marauding and waring countries.... I particularly get amused by the Irish, who are rightfully proud of their heritage, but the term "pure Irish" is an oxymoron....

Also, as an aside, would it be fair to ask all English speaking Americans to speak with the same accent???
