Oh yeah, by all means stick with the GIFs! They may not end up looking as pretty as your original TIFFs but hey, this is not a beauty pageant. (g)

I was just avoiding bringing GIFs up again, lest I caused someone to overload with all this image geek talk. (g)

you may have more success of you name files without periods (except before the suffix) and in lower case.

For example:

AAPL.5.23.jpg

should be named

aapl_5_23.jpg

This is the convention on servers. Some servers cannot handle files incorrectly named.
