The mainstream media would have us believe that things are going quite badly with the war in Iraq.

It turns out that the press, almost as one, suddenly decided to add accidental deaths to the combat deaths. So of course the numbers went way up, and Americans were once again mislead.

Actual combat death numbers over past 3 years: 1779

Clarifying this more dramatically. . .

Combat deaths per day:

Iraq - 1.64
Gulf War - 0.00
Vietnam War - 15.00
Korean War - 30.00
WWII - 214.00

Of all wars, the Iraq war is the most successful in history, except for the Gulf War. Of course we didn't invade Iraq in that one.

To reiterate:

Americans KIA since Iraq war began (3/19/03 - 3/19/06): 1779
American combat deaths per day: 1.64
