The oil companies are beside themselves. In 2006 they are facing the double whammy of peak oil and sustained increases in crude prices and an overwhelming consensus in favor of global warming amongst mainstream scientists. The oil industry has another decade at the most to do their mischief and make money and then they will have to step aside and allow a new energy technology to take over that is cleaner and less expensive than oil.
