Post. I would not worry about the flamers on this thread.

Elroy has made a good case against oil shale (needs too much water and leaves a nasty mess, and US deposits are locate in dry areas, in addition to low net energy gain)
here and on the Boom Boom Room.

Ethanol's limitations are acknowledged, especially using my tax dollars to try to grow sugar cane in North Dakota.

Please post the case against oil sands. Flame wars are not tolerated here.

flamers on this thread? BB you may post. There's none. Let me see if a flamer comes out to be dealt with the usual way.

Hah! I was poking around on the web a couple of weeks ago, trying to get info on the Solv-ex story. When I was a very naive starting out investor, I had some money in Solv-ex. It's embarrassing to have to admit it, but I fell victim to a boiler-room operator. I hadn't heard the term "boiler-room", and although it now seems incredible, I was persuaded by this character who called me out of the blue (and kept calling) to invest in this wonderful new company that was going to make billions. The amount involved was very small (luckily I didn't have much spare cash), and it was probably worth it for the education. I still have the share certificates somewhere.
