while the execution of a warrant on a Congressional office might be surprising — this appears to be the first time it has happened — it fit the Bush administration's pattern of asserting broad executive authority, sometimes at the expense of the legislative and judicial branches. Sounds like a case of be careful what you wish for when it comes to strong leadership from the White House. I wonder if Bush and Cheney didn't think the Republican leadership would mind since it was a Democratic Congressman about to get nailed? Just idle musing....
