re: "too fiscally liberal for most folks" I don't really get this. Clinton/Gore produced the ONLY budget surplus in my lifetime. A surprise I thought I'd never see. Bush has spent more of our bucks than even LBJ. Bucks we haven't even paid them yet! Yeah I know... but perception matters as much as results. Which is pretty obvious these days. I was talking to a neighbor the other day, and he didn't know there was a deficit (I guess it hasn't been in the sports pages of the newspaper). Sometimes I think it's hopeless.
