It won't matter what all these naysayers said in a few decades as we watch the oceans repossses great pieces of developed land. The oceans and nature will then be the anti-capitalists as they flood billions of dollars worth of land and disrupt our economy. How are people going to get into and around NYC if the tunnels are under water? Of course, we could do the prudent thing and create a lot of economic activity by switching to a non-greenhouse gas emitting economy. Any changover would surely cause a huge burst of economic activity as people buy the latest energy technologies for their homes and cars. Then, if the energy can be delivered cheaply and consistently, the economy will benefit even further from cheap reliable energy. Bring back the SUVs and big house, because energy is cheap again, yet not harmful to the environment. We can have it both ways. Right now we have the worst of both worlds.
