That's just ignorant. For one, they aren't commies any longer, they are budding capitialists, label communists if you like but they are as interested in making a profit off the oil as the next guy. For two, the drilling is so far off the coast that it won't affect the U.S. For three, they are drilling in waters that are not ours, so we have no say anyway.

What a crock it is to say environmentalists are anti-capitalism. I'm an environmentalist and I even earn my living in the environmental field, but I'm certainly not anti-capitalism. I paid off my townhouse via stock market profits back in the 1990s. The economy has grown 100s of percent since the early 1970s when the environmental laws were implemented in the U.S. Any green revolution in energy will stimulate the economy tremendously, it could be another Internet boom economy, as people switch by the tens of millions to new cleaner energy technology. And then once they are in place, lower energy costs and less pollution will stimulate economic activity as people and companies have more disposable income. Hang it up. Greens just want to take this country in a different direction.
