I did say "apart from video", as this is about the only application I see for that much storage on a home PC.

What do you think the current usage of DVR software on home computers is? I'd guess less than 10% but I really have no idea. The answer would have to be even lower for laptops.

I think the hybrid flash/conventional drives are a good fit for home PCs. I don't know exactly how they'll be implemented but if I could partition one so that I had a flash partition for the OS and regular files, and only used the conventional drive for disposable stuff (multimedia or whatever), that would work out well performance-wise.

For a laptop, what I'd like to see would be a flash drive on the motherboard, with a slot for a conventional IDE drive. Where your available configurations could include various drive sizes or none at all.
