It's pure knee jerk but i will file your post and look at it at another time when history is on my mind. You are right about alternative outcomes in history though. We also have to accept the limitations on the human species to think globally when national or self interest is in the way. Back to iran big guy. Why do you think the window is opened as in 2003? Is A...ad a cia plant or is he the iranian stick in their version of our carrot and stick game? Also its hard to believe the mullahs about anything much. By the way i learn more from you and nadine on the ME than any other posters. That leads me to believe that if you two could come to a meeting of the minds, the world would be a better place.. I would love for you two to hammer out a ME peace plan. I dont see one. Pals get a split, remnant state even with 67 borders in place. I am thinking regional solution including Jordan where folks are represented by geography, religion and nationality. I hate both of the yugo models of a trumped up state but i also hate fragmentation by nationality. If the pals had a stake in a robust regional arrangement and all sides had the final say for domestic stuff over lands they now live in, who knows what might happen. Prereqs are no terror and no more settlements. I think the israelis are on track for that. But its not enough--a regional superregime might just work...an eu for the area???
