There's no way to frame a query for "somewhere out west," I don't think. (california OR oregon OR washington) works for the West Coast. (utah OR nevada OR arizona) would give you the desert areas. And I could formulate another one for the Rockies and so forth. But this presupposes a picture in your mind, ocean or desert or mountains, Great Plains or further west, farm or urban. If I want to remember a name badly enough I think about the picture I have in my mind. I have yet to come up dry, although it may take a while. I am a demon at Boolean searching. Tell me what you want and I'll find it for you.
