Historically the correlation between INTC and AMAT et al has been great. But in recent years, history has become meaningless.

Hope you are correct about INTC moving up.....haven't checked officially, but I can only assume that INTC is now one of the Dogs of the Dow. Who'd a thunk it?

KLA-Tencor Sell-Off Results In Correct Valuation
Kate DuBose Tomassi, 05.25.06, 5:08 PM ET

After a recent sell-off of KLA-Tencor shares over the past month, Banc of America Securities analyst Mark Fitzgerald upgraded the San Jose, Calif.-based company to "neutral" from "sell" saying that the stock price is now back in-line with other front-end semi-equipment stocks.

He added that KLA is facing an investigation regarding its alleged back-dating of stock option grants.

The analyst lowered the target price on KLA-Tencor shares to $43 from $44.

Banc of America's top picks in the semiconductor capital equipment space are ASML Holding, rated "buy" with a$26.80 price target and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (nyse: TSM - news - people ), rated "buy" with a $13 price target. The firm's least favorite stock in the category is Semiconductor Manufacturing International (nyse: SMI - news - people ), rated "sell" with a $6.10 price target.
