Bernanke's statement that the CPI overstates inflation when anybody with a whit of common sense know the opposite is true shows that not only is he an inflationist but a stupid inflationist.

This is the same argument that Greenspan made back in the 1970s and 1980s to justify doctoring the CPI methodology way back when.

Now that inflation pressures are rising sharply they want to juggle the numbers again to make them even more fraudulent than they already are.

But if Bernanke thinks that he can fool the either the markets or the populace with this type of juggling act he has a rude awakening dead ahead IMHO. Like a dollar crash, a five digit gold price, and a four digit oil price.
