The Smearvets had nothing to do with the truth. In fact, the whole thing was just a Rove-Delay organized hoax and massive dirty trick to lie to and fool gullible voters into thinking that a proven liar and draft-dodger GW Bush was tougher on defense than a bona fide war hero and military expert, John Kerry. The smearvets started out in their first ad by totally lying, then continued lying and lying and lying.

Not a single claim the smearvets made, including the only one they still talk about (Was JK in Cambodia? Yes he was!) had anything to do with the truth. In fact every charge was a deliberate fabrication spewed by extreme rightwing zealots, some of whom were paid to lie.

These same A-holes smeared McCain in 2000 and Cleland in 2002, all claiming that the Silver-star winning war heros were "cowards, no hero, aiding the enemy, liars, etc.) clesarly, it's time to make such smear campaigns illegal and to vote against anyone these smear campajgns are meant to help. This kind of crap belongs in Soviet Russia, not the USA.
