Disagreeing with something or correcting something (including incorrect "corrections") isn't nit-picking. Nit-picking is harping on totally unimportant or irrelevant details.

responded to a major point. The response wasn't a good one because it was a point the author didn't really agree with, but it wasn't some minor irrelevant detail.

As for Message 22489741 your point was that I was nitpicking. My response was once again directed against a major theme in the writing that I was responded to.

Actually, I posted it to you because I thought it reflected your views more than mine.

Not too much. I'm not a big fan of high carbon taxes, or attempts to set price floors on commodities.
